About the event
This is a four week online course for children aged 7+ (younger children may benefit from this course with supervision). We do this through group zoom calls and recorded teaching videos. Regular contact, private tuition and bespoke coaching are all available, if required. No previous experience in drawing or painting required - just internet access, access to Zoom, a space to work in, art-materials from the resources list below (or artpack) and a curious mind!
What the skills do both artists and scientists use? With spring on the way, we shall be taking our inspiration from the magic of nature! Focusing specifically on botanical, geological and entomological studies and artists - I shall model and teach specific approaches to observation and drawing to develop your drawing kills. In the first two weeks there will be a range of practice activities (including making your own notebook) and the choice of a small, focused independent study which will lead you into the second two weeks where you will learn watercolour painting techniques, design and finish your own final watercolour piece. This will be of standard size and easy to find a frame!
We run this course on Fridays and Saturday mornings over four weeks. Artpacks are available to purchase at cost price but please see list below, you may already have access to the materials you need. Artpacks can be delivered to your door at no extra cost. You will have access to a shared Google Drive folder which will contain all the Powerpoints, videos and images you need for the project.
Some participants (families and teachers) have chosen to purchase the course and use it at a later date, in their own time and their own way, without joining in the live group sessions. You can make this your own course - Please contact me directly to discuss your needs. carolinesclay@artlover.com
FRIENDS DISCOUNT - If you recommend a friend and they recruit, you can purchase the friends discount ticket (£10 off) If you usually purchase the sibling discount AND recommend a new recruit friend you get a total of £20 discount.
